Our Story

Real ranching.
Real beef.

We started Foothills Beef with a simple belief: cattle raised right taste better. So we set out to do it ourselves.

We raise our own herd on Colorado's high plains and partner with neighboring ranchers—families who've worked this land for generations. By combining our fresh approach with their deep expertise, we bring you beef that's both trustworthy and exceptional.

How We Raise Our Beef

What Sets Us Apart

21-Day Dry Aged

Our beef hangs for a full 21 days—far longer than the 12–14 days typical of most beef. Most processors won't go beyond that because it takes up too much space and they're production based. We insist on it because the result is deeper flavor, unmatched tenderness, and beef that truly stands apart.

21days

Grass-Fed, Grain-Finished

Our cattle spend their lives grazing on native Colorado pastures. In the final months, they're finished on grain for optimal marbling and flavor—the best of both worlds. Grass fed and finished is also available upon request.

No Hormones

We don't use growth hormones or promotants. Our cattle grow at their natural pace, which takes longer but produces better beef.

No Antibiotics

Healthy animals don't need routine antibiotics. We raise our cattle with room to roam, clean water, and proper nutrition—the way nature intended.

Open Range

Our herd has thousands of acres to graze. They move across the land naturally, which is better for the cattle and better for the soil.

Our Approach

01

Our Own Herd

We raise our own cattle right here on the Colorado Front Range. We're hands-on with every animal, from birth to harvest.

02

Trusted Partners

We also source from neighboring ranchers—families who've worked these plains for generations. Their expertise and dedication match our standards.

03

Same Standards

Whether from our herd or our partners', every animal is grass fed all natural, free of hormones and antibiotics. We accept nothing less.

04

Direct to You

We sell directly to families who care where their beef comes from. No middlemen, no mystery. Just honest beef from people you can trust.

The Land

Our ranch sits at the base of the Rocky Mountains, where cold streams feed green pastures and the air is clean. The high altitude and dry climate produce exceptional grazing conditions.

We practice rotational grazing, moving our herd regularly to allow pastures to recover. This isn't just good for the land—it mimics how bison once roamed these plains, building soil health naturally.

The result is beef that tastes like it should. Rich, clean, with the distinctive flavor that only comes from cattle raised on good grass and good land.
